This story is a work of fiction and is not based on real persons.

The little girl was five. She lived by the window—at the age most gifted in waiting.
One day, her father came. He brought a small box.
Inside was a wedding doll—a gown white as clouds, a veil light as a sigh.
The doll’s eyes shone softly, as if waiting for someone to choose her.
The little girl held her close. In that moment, a small light flickered inside her heart.
Her father knelt and said softly: "Tomorrow, I’ll come and take you home.”
She nodded. She placed that promise in her heart, completely and full.

Morning: the window glowed. Afternoon: the shadows lengthened. Evening: dusk slowly settled.
The girl sat by the window, holding the doll. She whispered, "Father will come.”

Author’s Reflection
This is not a story about childhood. It is a story about how the heart learns to carry love—even when it comes late, even when it arrives in pieces.
Sometimes, love does not arrive in time. But love can be continued. It can be healed. It can begin again in the next generation.
This story is about the moment someone chooses to say:
“Love will not break here. It continues with me.”
